Device adapter pair IDs – Models 986, 86E (three-phase power)

Device adapter pair IDs identify either the two device adapter cards in an I/O enclosure, or a pair of storage enclosure RAID controllers.

For FC-AL storage enclosures
A device adapter pair ID identifies the two device adapter cards in the I/O enclosures. The device adapter cards provide redundancy for the FC-AL loops that connect to one or more storage enclosure pairs.
For high-performance flash enclosures
A device adapter pair ID identifies the pair of storage enclosure RAID controllers and their associated interfaces to the I/O enclosures.
