MAP2060 Only one primary power supply reports a UEPO power off request

Use this procedure when only one primary power supply (PPS) of a pair of PPSs in the rack is reporting that the UEPO circuit loop through the UEPO switch is open. The other PPS is reporting the UEPO circuit loop through the UEPO switch is closed (normal operation).

MAP2060 Section-1

Before you begin

Note: If you replace the PPS FRU and the failure still occurs, replace the optional modules in the PPS also. For Model 94x, the optional modules, if present, are in the Ex-E2 and/or Ex-E3 locations. For Model 95x, the optional module, if present, is in the Ex-E2 location, as shown in Figure 1.

Procedure

  1. Use the FRU list to determine the location of the PPS reporting the UEPO circuit open loop. Ensure the AC INPUT GOOD LED is lit. If it is not, exit this problem and repair the problem report for the missing AC input.
  2. Ensure the rack operator panel UEPO switch is in the up position. If it is not, exit this problem and determine why the UEPO switch has been switched off.
  3. Observe the UEPO LOOP GOOD LED. Is the LED off?
    • Yes, go to the next step.
    • No, the failure is no longer present. Cancel the problem report that sent you here.
  4. Observe the UEPO cable at the J4 connector on the PPS. Is it properly connected?
    • Yes, go to the next step.
    • No, connect the cable and observe the UEPO LOOP GOOD LED. If it is lit, the failure is repaired. Close the problem report. If it is off, go to the next step.
  5. Check the continuity of the UEPO circuit through the UEPO cable and switch. (The cable is hard-wired to the UEPO switch). Disconnect the UEPO cable from the PPS J4 connector. Use a digital volt/ohm meter to check the continuity between the two wires of the cable connector. Is the continuity 1 ohm or less?
Note: If you replace the PPS FRU and the failure still occurs, replace the optional modules in the PPS also.
