MAP2070 Battery module enclosure circuit breaker problem
About this task
MAP2070 Section-1
Procedure
- Visually check both circuit breakers (CBs) on
the battery module enclosure. Find the condition that applies:
- CB is in the full OFF (down) position, go to step 2.
- CB is not detented in a full OFF (down) or full
ON (up) position, go to step 3.Note: This normally occurs if the CB has mechanically failed internally. The breaker handle will feel like it is loose. When gently moved up or down, it will not detent in the full up or down position.
- CB is in the full ON (up) position, go to step 4.
- Do a pseudo repair of the battery module enclosure
FRU, and set the CB to ON (up) during that repair. A pseudo repair
means you do not actually physically replace the FRU, but you go through
the normal FRU replacement process. If
you have already performed a pseudo repair of the battery module enclosure
FRU and the problem reoccurred, go to step 3.
- Click Close in the current service information window (that is, this window).
- One or more HMC repair screens will prompt you for the result of using the service procedure in the MAP. Select Problem not fixed.
- Select No when prompted for whether you exchanged any parts.
- Select Yes when prompted for whether you isolated the problem.
- Select the FRU to be repaired from the FRU list. Click Next.
- The HMC begins the FRU exchange process for the selected FRU.
- When the pseudo repair is complete, return here and continue.
- Inspect the CBs on the other battery module
enclosures in this rack.
- If all are in the ON (up) position, exit this MAP, the repair is complete.
- If any are in the OFF (down) position, use their serviceable event to repair them. If there are no serviceable events for that battery module enclosure, then do a pseudo repair of that battery module enclosure to reset the CBs to the ON (up) position using MAP1230 Replace a FRU without using a serviceable event. When all CBs have been reset, exit this MAP, the repair is complete.
- Replace the battery module enclosure FRU.
