MAP2830 Management enclosure fan error

A fan assembly in the management enclosure in not providing proper fan rotations signals to one or both management enclosure power supplies.

  • Each fan assembly has an intake fan with 5 blades and an exhaust fan with 3 blades. Each fan has input power and output fan rotation signals.

Procedure

  1. This MAP might require you to know the SRC or FRU locations from the serviceable event. If you do not know them, display them now by using the following steps:
    1. At the top of this MAP procedure, click Close.
    2. To the question What was the result of using the service procedure? click Delay the repair and then click Next.
    3. The selected serviceable event is displayed. Under Selected, click View Details.
    4. Record notes or take a picture of the information. Then, click Cancel.
    5. The selected serviceable event is displayed.

    Begin the repair to return to this MAP procedure.

  2. At the front of the rack, slide the management enclosure out to the service position and remove the top cover.
    Note: The management enclosure is below the two CEC enclosures.
    1. Fully loosen the left and right captive thumb screws.
    2. Slide the management out fully so the sliding rails lock into place.
    3. At the rear of the top cover, fully loosen the left and right captive thumb screws.
    4. Slide the cover back until it lifts off.

  3. Locate the fan FRU by using the location code (A1, A2). See Figure 2.

  4. Is the fan assembly cable connected to the management enclosure 12 V distribution cable connector at the sheet metal bracket?
