MAP33E0 Communication error detected by SAS cabling check
MAP33E0 Section-1
Procedure
-
Check both ends of the SAS cables that connect each ESM to the device adapter
card or to the RAID controller card or microbay. Refer to the figures that follow to find the
model, locations, and point-to-point cabling diagrams.
The FRU location code for each end of the cable is in one of the formats shown in Table 1.

Figure 5Notes:- Point-to-point cabling diagrams are listed in Table 2.
- The SRC BE3400EB FRU list includes only the following: this MAP, the storage enclosure, and the RAID controller card or device adapter card. The storage enclosure FRU includes the physical location ID in the form of Rx-F0y. This is a special case where the incorrect cabling is likely on the RAID controller card.
- The SRC BE340105 might be caused by an improperly seated or unplugged SAS cable or ESM.
- SRC BE340103/BE340104/BE340105, the non-MAP FRUs is Rx-F0y-P1-Cz (ESM) and Rx-F0y-P1-Cz-Tn (ESM connector) as applicable.
-
If the serviceable event that sent you here occurred during either of
the following events, check the PCIe cabling from the microbay to the associated I/O
enclosure:
- MES to install high-performance flash enclosures with microbays
- I/O enclosure PCIe and PCN card repair
Refer to the figures that follow to find the model, locations, and point-to-point cabling diagrams. See Table 2.
- Verify that the ESM is properly seated.
-
When you have isolated the incorrect cabling or incorrectly seated ESM:
- Exit this MAP.
- To the question, "What was the result of using the service procedure ?" click Delay the repair and then click Next.
- The current repair action ends, but the serviceable event that sent you here is left open. Close the service event.
If you cannot isolate the incorrect cabling, proceed to the next step and replace the FRU, or contact your next level of support.
-
Retry the original service action. When directed to replace the FRU (repair) or connect the
cables (MES), correct the cable connections or replace the cable, and make sure the ESM is properly
seated.
