MAP6220 Reloading the management console with no backup data LIC bundle VRMF 64.2.xxx.xxx or later
Use this MAP to reinstall the Licensed Internal Code (LIC bundle VRMF 64.2.xxx.xxx or later) for the management console only when the restore HMC critical console data from the LPAR failed.

About this task
If you are using the DS8000 storage management GUI go to MAP6220 Section-2.
Procedure
- You should have been sent here from MAP6210 Restore HMC Critical Console Data from LPAR, LIC bundle VRMF 64.2.xxx.xxx or later. The attempt to restore the HMC critical console data failed at some point in the process. It is not known how much of the data was written before the failure being detected.
- Go to MAP6200 Reloading the management console LIC bundle and
reload the management console LIC bundle. When MAP6200 directs you
to go to MAP6210 to attempt to restore the HMC critical console data,
ignore that request and instead, return here and go to the next step.
Note: The restore critical console data process that failed in MAP6210 Restore HMC Critical Console Data from LPAR, LIC bundle VRMF 64.2.xxx.xxx or later may have left a partial or corrupted copy of the critical console data. You are reloading the management console LIC bundle to ensure that a clean copy of the code exists before going to the next steps to manually restore the critical console data.
- Because the HMC critical console data cannot be restored
from the LPAR, you will need to manually restore the settings.
- Obtain a copy of the customer configuration worksheets.
- Manually restore the settings. Refer to MAP6106 Restoring the HMC customer communication and network settings.
- Contact your next level of support so they can remotely connect and do a procedure to rediscover storage facilities on this HMC.
- Restart
the management console:
- From the navigation area, click HMC Management.
- In the right work area, go to the Operations section and click Shut Down or Restart. The Shutdown or Restart window opens.
- Select Restart HMC. Click OK.
- When the management console pre-login screen appears, log on to the management console.
- Run the Discover Storage
Facility task to refresh the resources that are displayed by the HMC screens:
- From the navigation area, click Storage Facility Management.
- From the bottom Task area, click Discover Storage Facility. You can click this option only once.
- Was the Discover Storage
Facility task successful?
- Yes, go to the next step.
- No, contact your next level of support.
- Verify that each storage
facility, storage facility image, partition, and CEC is displayed correctly:
- From the navigation area, click Storage Facility Management > Storage Facility > Server View.
- Are the entries displayed
correctly?
- Yes, go to the next step.
- No, contact your next level of support.
- Ensure that the customer can access the DS8000® Storage Manager application .

Check for missing install corrective service (ICS) and reinstall ICS.
- From the navigation area, click Updates > storage facility > Verify Bundle Installed > code level
- In the ICS Images section, find the list of ICS images that need to be reinstalled, find the ICS media, and reinstall them.

Restart the management console:
- Select the Settings icon from the left side of the navigation area, click Support > Troubleshooting.
- In the right work area, click Restart Local HMC. A confirmation window opens.
- Click Yes to restart the HMC.

When the DS8000 storage managment GUI login appears, log on with user
ID
serviceand passwordserv1cece. - On the dashboard on the navigation screen, verify that the Storage Facility, Storage Facility Image, CECs, and LPARs are displayed correctly without any errors.

Are the entries displayed correctly?
- Yes, go to step 15.
- No, go to the next step.

Log into the service interface.
- From the navigation area, click Service > Service GUI.
