Attention:
  • This procedure is not a stand-alone procedure. Customer disruption and damage to the hardware might occur when microcode and power boundaries are not in the proper conditions for this service action.
  • If a serviceable event FRU repair directed you to this procedure, the microcode and power boundaries are already set.

Notes:
  • All the cables and FRUs to be removed must be uniquely identified so they can be reinstalled correctly.
  • If an installed earthquake resistance kit prevents you from accessing this FRU, refer to MAP1600.

Remove PDU to 12V power supply cable

Procedure

  1. To locate this FRU, use the location code, which is listed in MAP1245 Finding FRUs by using location codes. There is no identify LED indicator.
  2. A failure of this FRU is not isolated by code, it is only isolated by a visual symptom.
    1. You should have been sent here by MAP2750 visual symptoms for power junction assembly (PJA) devices (Models 98x) that isolated the problem to the 12V power supply not receiving input power.

  3. Disconnect the cable at both ends. To disconnect the cable from the PDU, release the cable connector retainer.
  4. Remove the cable retention hardware as needed and then remove the cable.

Install PDU to 12V power supply cable

Procedure

  1. Route the cable.
  2. Connect both ends of the cable.
  3. Install the cable retention hardware.
  4. Observe the input and output LED indicators supplied by the 12V power supply input power cable you replaced. See Table 1 and Figure 3.

    Are the LED indicators lit?
