Exchange the PDU to power supply, 20v cable

Attention:

This procedure is not a stand-alone procedure. Customer disruption and damage to the hardware might occur when microcode and power boundaries are not in the proper conditions for this service action.
If a serviceable event FRU repair directed you to this procedure, the microcode and power boundaries are already set.

Notes:

All the cables and FRUs to be removed must be uniquely identified so they can be reinstalled correctly.
If an installed earthquake resistance kit prevents you from accessing this FRU, refer to MAP1600.

To locate this FRU, use the location code, which is listed in MAP1245 Finding FRUs by using location codes. There is no identify LED indicator.
A failure of this FRU is not isolated by code, it is only isolated by a visual symptom.
1. You should have been sent here by MAP2730 Visual symptoms for Ethernet switch tray (switches, fans, power junction assemblies) (Model 961) that isolated the problem to the power supply, 12V, note receiving proper voltage.
2. There are two PDU to power supply, 20v cables. See Figure 1 and Figure 2.
  - E25-J1 (PDU) to E31 (power supply)
  - E26-J1 (PDU) to E34 (power supply)

Disconnect the cable at both ends.
Remove the cable retention hardware as needed and then remove the cable.
1. The cable is routed through the management console tray cable management arm.

Route the cable.
Connect both ends of the cable.
Install the cable retention hardware.
Observe the 20v input LEDs indicator (J7) for the PJA (E41, E42) supplied by the 20v power supplies affected by the power cable you replaced. See Figure 4.
Are the LED indicators lit?
- Yes, continue at the next step.
- No, ensure the power cable is properly connected to both 20v power supplies and the PDU.
  If the problem still occurs, go to MAP2730 Visual symptoms for Ethernet switch tray (switches, fans, power junction assemblies) (Model 961).
